Home Solar and Battery Storage Project

Green Eco Group completed a home solar panel and battery storage installation for a terraced house in Crewe, CW1. The system combines a 7.68kW solar PV array with Fox ESS battery storage, creating a complete setup for generating and storing electricity at the property.

The installation includes 16 AIKO 480W solar panels, a 6kW Fox ESS hybrid inverter and 11.52kWh of Fox ESS battery storage, together with online monitoring and MCS certification.

Project Overview:

7.68kW Solar PV and Fox ESS Battery Storage System

The Crewe project involved the installation of a residential solar PV and battery storage system for a terraced house. Sixteen AIKO solar panels, each rated at 480W, were installed to create a combined 7.68kW solar PV system. The panels were positioned across the pitched east and west-facing roof areas, making use of the available roof space on both sides of the property.

6kW Fox ESS Hybrid Inverter

At the centre of the installation is a 6kW Fox ESS hybrid inverter. The inverter manages the electricity generated by the solar panels and works with the connected battery storage system. This allows the solar array and battery to operate together as one home energy setup, supporting the movement of electricity between solar generation, household use and battery charging.

11.52kWh Fox ESS Battery Storage

The property also has 11.52kWh of Fox ESS battery storage. The battery can store surplus solar electricity for later use rather than limiting the household to electricity being generated at that moment. The amount of stored solar electricity available will depend on generation, household demand and the way the system is configured.

Online Solar and Battery Monitoring

Online monitoring is included as part of the installation. This gives the homeowner access to useful system information, including solar generation and battery activity. It also provides a simple way to check the general performance of the solar panels, inverter and battery system.

One-Day MCS Certified Installation

Green Eco Group completed the installation in one day. The completed system is MCS certified, providing recognised certification for the renewable energy installation.

Solar Panels for an East and West-Facing Roof

This project demonstrates how solar panels and battery storage can be installed on a terraced property with an east and west-facing pitched roof.

By combining 16 AIKO panels with a Fox ESS hybrid inverter, battery storage and online monitoring, the property now has one connected residential solar and battery system based on the supplied project requirements.

I went to a number of companies for quotes and did a fair bit of due diligence before selecting GreenEco - particularly as their quote came in quite a bit lower than others.
In these early days, Tarren and his team were always available to answer my queries, provide updated quotes and meet my needs.  I ended up with an 8 panel 3.8kW Aiko system, Sigenstor 6kW inverter and 10kWh battery with a view to future ASHP running.
Malcolm came out and surveyed - very knowledgeable and structural information was all checked in accordance with MCS requirements.
Lucy took over communications and kept me in the loop on all proceedings - a bit of a wait while I awaited an LDC from Lewisham (my choice and arrangement) - but they were ready to install as soon as it came through.
Scaffold up in advance and the installation team did all the work in one day. Clean, tidy and friendly and good handover of Sigenstor App and instructions.
I'm now exporting and running the house on zero electrical imports  - long live the Summer!

The team were friendly, helpful and easy to deal with throughout. They explained everything clearly without overcomplicating it, answered any questions I had, and kept me updated along the way. I never felt under pressure, which made a big difference when making the decision. Aaron was amazing and super helpful with all my questions and patient with my indecisiveness!

Installation day went smoothly. They arrived when they said they would, got on with the job, and left everything tidy afterwards. The standard of work looks really good.

Since having the system installed, everything has been working well and I’m really pleased I went ahead with it.

The team were very helpful and Tarren especially was incredibly helpful from the order stage right through to some small niggles after install, which I may say was not down to him. All sorted out in very short order.
The 2 installers worked there socks of and completed the install in a day. All very neat and tidy work.
