12kW Home Solar Panels and Battery Storage Installation in Chelmsford

Home Solar and Battery Storage Project

Green Eco Group completed a home solar panel and battery storage installation for a detached house in Chelmsford, CM1. The system combines a 12kW solar PV array with SigenStor battery storage, creating a complete setup for generating and storing electricity at the property.

The installation includes 25 AIKO 480W solar panels, 19 Tigo optimisers, a 12kW Sigenergy hybrid inverter and 15kWh of SigenStor battery storage, together with online monitoring and MCS certification.

Project Overview:

12kW Solar PV and SigenStor Battery Storage System

The Chelmsford project involved the installation of a residential solar PV and battery storage system for a detached house. Twenty-five AIKO solar panels, each rated at 480W, were installed to create a combined 12kW solar PV system. The panels were positioned across flat and pitched roof areas with south and east-facing orientations, making practical use of the available roof space.

19 Tigo Optimisers

The system also includes 19 Tigo optimisers. These are installed at panel level and are used to support the performance and management of selected solar panels within the array. Their inclusion forms part of the overall solar PV design for this property.

12kW Sigenergy Hybrid Inverter

At the centre of the installation is a 12kW Sigenergy hybrid inverter. The inverter manages electricity generated by the solar panels and works with the connected battery storage system. This allows solar generation and stored energy to operate together as one home energy setup.

15kWh SigenStor Battery Storage

The property also has 15kWh of SigenStor battery storage. The battery can store surplus solar electricity for later use rather than relying only on electricity at the time it is generated. The amount of stored electricity available will depend on solar generation, household demand and the way the system is configured.

Online Solar and Battery Monitoring

Online monitoring was included as part of the installation. This gives the homeowner access to system information and makes it easier to view solar generation, battery activity and general performance. It also provides a simple way to check how the solar panels, inverter and battery storage are working together.

Two-Day MCS Certified Installation

Green Eco Group completed the installation in two days. The completed solar and battery system is MCS certified, providing recognised certification for the renewable energy installation.

Solar Panels Across Flat and Pitched Roof Areas

This project shows how a larger residential solar PV system can be installed across different roof types and orientations. By combining 25 AIKO panels, Tigo optimisers, a Sigenergy hybrid inverter, SigenStor battery storage and online monitoring, the property now has one connected solar and battery system based on the supplied project requirements.
